Program focus

This week-long program is designed to spark a passion in secondary students for women to pursue careers in design (architecture) and construction.

Over the course of the week, students will experience a variety of authentic activities centred around thinking and doing. They’ll gain valuable insights into how buildings come together and explore how innovative design can reimagine the use of materials in new and exciting ways.

Additionally, students will have the opportunity to foster close relationships with industry partners, local communities and gain exposure to university pathways.

Key tasks within the program include:

  • sustainable thinking
  • design thinking
  • site analyses
  • model making
  • understanding plans and sections
  • scheduling
  • framing and structure
  • cladding and weathertightness
  • presentation to industry.
